Chrome 15 overheads other browsers in the Global web browser market As per a weekly analysis done by StatCounter, the free website analytics company, USA, for the first time, Chrome 15 has become the most popular browser all over the world. Aodhan Cullen, CEO, StatCounter gave his comments for Chrome’s success this week. He said “Google announced Chrome for business exactly a year ago and IT administrators appear to have embraced it in a remarkably short time”. The StatCounter Global Stats has found that in the last week of November, 2011, Google’s Chrome 15 has crossed the upper limit with 23.6 percentage of the world’s internet browser market, with Microsoft’s Internet Explorer 8 stuck at a 0.1 percent below i.e., 23.5 percentage. However, when considering for all the versions of a particular web browser, Internet Explorer still stays ahead in the Global market and Chrome stands at second position. “Looking at the daily stats, Chrome 14 and 15 have been overtaking IE8 at weekends since the beginning of October. However, Chrome 15 overtook IE8 for the first time during the five day working week, in week commencing 5th December. It looks as if people favour Chrome on weekends at home but office commercial use has now caught up,” Aodhan Cullen added in his congratulation note. The analysis done on a worldwide spectrum, adds that though, Chrome 15 has over headed IE8 in UK, it is still behind the Internet Explorer version, in US. The report’s data say that in US, IE8 leads with 27 percent, compared to the 18.1 percent for Chrome 15. However, in UK, Chrome 15 leads with 24.7 percent, whereas IE8 stays behind at 21.1 percent.
