Is Google+ or Facebook Better for Business? After last Monday, the 7th of November, 2011, when Google launched its Google+ Pages for business, the industry analysts have been forced to change their views and predictions that they made before the launch. “In this fast-moving sector, Google does not have the luxury of waiting until a full-featured offering is ready,” said Ray Valdes, an analyst in Gartner. “I think Google has been trying to strike a balance between responding quickly to one big market demand — support for business presence on Google+ — versus bringing a fully-fleshed-out offering to the market,” added Valdes, when asked his point about Google’s steps taken for its business version. Opposite to what was expected from Google, Google+ business version lacks the ability to host contests or sweepstakes. Even the ability for businesses to offer deals or coupons for selling products has been excluded from the Google+ business version. Most of the features that were expected to be included in Google+ have been included in Facebook. This has brought up the ratings of Facebook over Google+. Earlier Google+ had initiated its business version and had promised to include extensive features into it, but due to some reasons it withdrew the proposal till the network preparations were completed. While the Google+ business version was put on hold, facebook came ahead with its Facebook for Business. After analyzing both the versions, analysts have found that Google+ still needs much more to be added in its proposal. As per Valdes, “Google+ Pages is a good start and the company will fill out its offering in the coming months.” Though, Facebook has overtaken Google+ in the business version, many experts still think that Google+ can take the lead in the coming months. With the conflicts in views; experts, analysts, as well as the business people are awaiting what is going to come forth in the coming time. |
