Technology News – Microsoft includes new SkyDrive Desktop app for Windows 8

SkyDriveA technology news source reveals that Microsoft is letting no stones unturned to keep its Windows 8 OS interface in limelight at the glare of publicity throughout. Microsoft has implemented policies to refurbish its web-based data storage platform SkyDrive. Now with being updated it can be used as default “device cloud” for storage purpose meant for all apps and files on a Windows 8 based system.  On a blog regarding the building of Window 8, the Giant software manufacturer has also decided to introduce a desktop app with SkyDrive for Internet Explorer and it would be endowed with the capability to fetch remote files from the Web. Microsoft has traced the path for SkyDrive to shed its shell of a website and emerge as a true device cloud for Windows customers.

Group program managers for SkyDrive, Mike Torres and Omar Shahine, scripted a post saying, “With Windows 8, we wanted to make sure that your files would be instantly available and up-to-date as you move between PCs–without configuring add-ons or using a USB drive. This will bring a file cloud to every Metro style app, allowing you to open files in your SkyDrive and save them right back to your SkyDrive just like you would on your local hard drive”.

According to the SkyDrive group program manager duo, the desktop app comprises of the functionality to perform a drag-and-drop upload for SkyDrive that is quite simpler to execute. Along with it the app allows to download support for SkyDrive that further enables access to your data from anywhere, both online and offline, and enable the Windows Explorer maintain and deal with your files and folders.

Microsoft has also endowed SkyDrive with the “Fetch” feature which would execute much more extensively other that just coordinating cloud files with a PC. Microsoft official announcement claims that SkyDrive will “turn your entire PC into your own private cloud, and use its terabytes of local storage to easily access, browse, and stream your files from anywhere by simply fetching them from SkyDrive.com.”

This vivid information regarding SkyDrive came corresponding to the Apple’s introductory session owing to its Mountain Lion app. Anyways its being evident that they both intend to amalgamate more stuff into cloud services and social networks which may further uphold more consistency and security.
